What’s Holding You?

What is WHY?

When something feels hard, the first question we usually ask is why. Why me? Why now? Why is this happening? At WHY, that question isn’t a dead end — it’s the starting point for understanding.

WHY stands for “What’s Holding You?” Naming what is keeping you from moving forward is the first step to working through it. WHY is a multidisciplinary counselling center by Waznat where psychologists, therapists and coaches work together, look at the whole person — not just one difficulty or one label — and guide you to the support that is right for you.

You won’t have to move from one disconnected professional to another or repeat your story again and again. You’ll find caring specialists under one roof who listen first, communicate with each other (with your consent) and help you take the next step at your own pace.

At WHY, we believe that understanding is the first step toward meaningful change.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know what’s wrong, or which service I need, before contacting WHY?

No. Many people reach out simply because something doesn’t feel right. In a short first conversation we listen, ask a few simple questions about the concern, age and context, and guide you to the professional who is the best starting point.

Is what I share at WHY confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality, informed consent and professional ethics guide everything we do. Information is only shared with your consent, for example between specialists or with a school, and only as much as is needed, unless the law or someone’s safety requires otherwise.

Who does WHY work with?

We support children, teenagers, adults, parents and couples. We also work with schools and institutions when it helps a child or teenager and consent allows. Get in touch and we’ll tell you whether WHY is the right place for your situation.

What happens in the first session?

The first meeting is calm, private and unhurried. You’ll have time to explain what’s going on, ask questions and talk about what you hope will change. You should leave with more clarity about the next step, even if that step is a different service or professional.

Will I be told everything my teenager says in therapy?

Not word for word. Teenagers need a trusted, private space to open up. Parents receive the guidance and information they need to support their child, but session details are not automatically shared. The balance depends on age, maturity, consent and safety.

What if my child refuses to come?

That’s common, and it isn’t a failure. Talk to us first. We can help you think about how to approach it, and support can begin with you, as a parent, while your child gets ready.

How long does therapy take?

It depends on the person, the need and the goals you set together. We never promise a fixed number of sessions or a quick fix. Instead, we review progress with you along the way so you always know where things stand.

How much does a session cost?

Fees depend on the service and the type of session. We’ll explain them clearly when you contact us, before you book anything.

Where are sessions held, and in which languages?

Sessions take place at our center on the 3rd floor of Palm Plaza Center in Mtayleb, Lebanon. Our team works in Arabic, English and French.

How do I book a session at WHY?

Call or WhatsApp us on +961 76 46 38 30, email counselingcenter@waznat.com, or fill in the contact form on this page. We’ll get back to you to arrange a first conversation at a time that suits you.
